Labor Day Picnic/Block Party 4:00 pm
Come to the Clubhouse after 4 pm for fun and games. Outside will be bocce ball, horseshoes, string ladder, bean bagand of course, the pool!
How about a volleyball tournament!? Inside we always have cards, billiards, darts and games.
Bring along whatever you want to have as a meal! Pack a picnic dinner complete with your favorite beverages for yourselves and join the fun. Eat inside or outside … Just come join us to end summer with friends and neighbors.
Long time residents, please invite and bring along our newest neighbors! It’s a chance to meet and greet everyone. Consider bringing lawn chairs if it’s a beautiful day. There is no rain date … Cause we can celebrate inside or out!

Polar Plunge
The Polar Plunge and raffle will be on 27 September at 1 PM. Join us at the pool for the closing act of the summer pool season. Raffle, raffle, raffle! $1.00 to enter one chance per person. Guess the correct pool temperature on 27 September, and the winner or winners will split the pot. Please email Sharon.cowart@comcast.net with your guess by Sunday 20 September. Sharon will collect your $1.00 entry fee on 27 September the day of the Polar Plunge. Hopefully we will have good weather and sunny skies. Maybe this year it will be truly chilly so bring your refreshments hot or cold beverages and snack. Updates will be emailed to you prior to the Polar plunge.

Flash Mob?
Sharon will be doing a wine celebrate Autumn Flash Mob in September. Everyone please watch your email for more information. A flash mob is a group of people getting together with only a one-day notice. This flash mob will celebrate the change of season. Sharon will have THE first ever Southern Meadow flash mob in September. Location, time and date will be sent out via email one day in advance of the flash mob so watch your email in September. !!” This event will not go on the calendar as the date is supposed to be a surprise.
Interested in Woodcarving???
The Southern Meadow woodcarvers meet at the clubhouse every Wednesday between 1:30 and 4:30. They are working on individual projects at this time.
Want to try? No problem! Sit in for a session to see how it goes … everyone helps one another and instructor, Fred Ainge, can help you get started. This group has only been carving since last summer and what they have accomplished is good stuff!
Some of the group also meets on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm on Fred’s front porch (179 Daffodil Drive) just to carve and chat … no class, just friendship and a casual evening.

12 Oct – 6:00 pm – Columbus Day – Italian theme dinner. Mary Jane is point of contact for any volunteers. Volunteers are needed to set up/clean up etc.
3 Oct – Alzheimer Walk in Rehoboth.
31 Oct – Halloween Party Patti Papineau and Agnes Case are the points of contact for this event. We will start at 7:00 pm. Darlene and Brian Bean will be doing Karaoke again this year. More on the event will be posted later.
11 Nov – Veterans Day Service Points of contact will be Ron and Papineau and Lisa Kuehnl. More details will follow.
21 Nov – 6:00 pm Thanksgiving Dinner at Magnolia Fire Hall. Volunteers are needed. Please pitch in and contact Flo Zimmerman.
5 Dec – 10:00 am Decorate the Clubhouse for the Holidays. Christine will have the outdoor lights and Christmas tree put up for us.
8 Dec – Hanukkah party if you are interested in chairing this event, please contact Christine.
12 Dec – Saturday The Christmas Party will be at Magnolia Firehouse with music by DJ Carmen. 6:30 pm – 10:30. Appetizers will be from Roma Restaurant. More information will follow when the event, DJ, and food is confirmed.
16 Dec – 12:00pm Cookie Exchange 1:00 pm lunch FOR BAKERS ONLY. Food will be from Frederica pizza. Sharon Cowart will be a point of contact.
Dec. 17 – Christmas Caroling
31 December – 8:00 pm New Year’s Eve Rockin’ the Meadow Party. Bring snacks. Christine to get Jersey Mikes subs cut into 2-3 inch servings. Darlene and Brian Bean will be doing Karaoke to provide music and entertainment.
